And Tim Harris (you know him sweetie that comedy veteran from Full Frontal and the Melbourne Comedy Festival) he will be helping judge your fabulous creations.

Iconic, groundbreaking, controversial, you name it there’s been an album cover for every occassion. What about Ripper ‘82 with the hot girl’s bum in denim shorts? How could the world possibly exist without such creative genius?

That’s why for the first Creative Bent of the year, we’re asking our friends to get together and help us recreate some of history’s finest works of art. Whether you’re into photography, illustration, sculpture or even interpretive dance (what? it’s an art form!) come rock out with your rooster out as we kick out the jams on the first Thursday in March. And if you can’t think of an album cover to play with, then just dress yourself up in vinyl, spin around really, really fast and we’ll stick a needle in you until music comes out. Woo!

Of course, Creative Bent can never achieve its artistic brilliance alone. That’s why we’ve asked our cooler than cool friends at Modular to rev up the RPMs with some awesome prizes. With a label behind some impressive names such as The Presets, Ladyhawke, and Cut Copy just to mention a few, you can be assured the prize packs are bound to start a judging riot. Sweet!

And if that’s nor enough to get you all happy in the pants then wait until you see the amazing location we’ve blagged. It’s the brand spanking new Third Floor of mag nation, and awesome space dedicated to all things design and pop culture. It may be a little hard to find, but once you get there you may find yourself a little hard. Teehee!

Gone are the summers with water pistols and running through sprinklers - damn water restrictions. We can’t throw water but we can throw paint! So that’s what we’re doing for our next CB, we’re creating a big artwork spanning 2 -3 canvases.

Perhaps your only experience is paint by numbers…

This year you will be putting together you’re own glamours costume and putting jockeys into fabulous creations that you will be making. Team up with a horse, grab a beer and get racing!

What a waste of time…

So sometimes while I’m there waiting for someone to get off the phone and the download to finish, I sit there drawing away and on occasion I get a bit more creative. My imagination runs away quicker than the chick I tried to ask out on Saturday. Armed with scissors tape and bic biros, a giant Japanese reptile creature is born. This beast will consume all idiots roaming my office, then tops it off brawling with the purple giraffe that climbed out of my pen jar. Then appear the support cheer troop of dancing paper clip monkeys in a conga line!

Is that normal?

Well for our next CB we are creating our own stationary critters to keep us entertained, and lets face it, out of trouble! Make something nice, make something to scare the kiddies, whatever! Just be there!

And PONY’s hosting a jam session of its own with live music upstairs from the Dooms, the Sophisticants, and the Loveless.
